From what I’ve observed, people actually read the updates I make here — so I suppose thats a reason to write an update. I got back from San Jose yesterday morning and spent most of the day doing laundry and falling asleep on the couch. It has been a long time since I have taken naps and managed to get two solid ones in yesterday.

California was awesome, as you may have read in my previous post week one of class went well as did the one full weekend I had out there. The second week of exams flew by and I did surprisingly well. I knew I knew the information pretty well but I always get a mild dose of text anxiety. Apparently I over-reacted; I only missed one question on the last cert they had me do. So word to that. California was awesome, I have a free ticket for a trip I need to use before the end of the year and am already seriously contemplating going back — I don’t think I could stay as long as I did the first time though; two weeks about my maximum for being away from home.

Last night I went in to work to finish my expense report for the trip and pick up Sulgi, we watched Constantine, discussed mysticism, bought tickets for the aquarium, and she ate all the ice cream. Today was a late lunch at Flying Biscuit, a failed attempt at the ABG, and an evening in Piedmont Park with her and JackMcD. I annoyed the shit out of them with the camera, and did alright as far as getting usable shots. It was the first time I had used the 50mm/1.4 primarily as a portrait lens, and I did alright. My goal for tomorrow is to see how well I can do on just the kit-lens. Its time to go back to basics. Man I’m gonna miss my quality DOF.
